đź“Ť The Royal Green Jackets (Rifles) Museum
Join us on Saturday 14th September for a day of fun, free activities for Winchester’s Heritage Open Days!
- Free admission to the Museum, as well the rest of Winchester’s Military Museums
- Meet soldiers from the Peninsular War, including a soldier from the 95th (Rifle) Regiment of Foot and a soldier from the 43rd (Monmouthshire) Regiment of Foot
- Take part in a special museum trail about explorers from The Royal Green Jackets and its antecedents, with the chance to win exclusive stickers
- Dress up, do some colouring in, and complete museum trails and challenges for all ages
Plus explore the history of Riflemen from the 18th Century to the present day, following stories of bravery and courage throughout the Museum. Check out the Waterloo diorama, a 25 square metre model of the battlefield with 30,000 figures, plus a 5 minute sound and light commentary. Find the stories of 30 Victoria Cross recipients throughout the museum, and view our extensive medal collection. Visit our shop to find confectionery, books, clothing, toys, collectibles and accessories to remember your visit.
